International Standard Organization is an organization established in 1947, under the non-governmental organization (NGO) which is located in Switzerland, about 150 countries are the member of this organization. The organization provides the standards to avoid the repetition between the parties over requirements, specifications, guidelines, characteristics that may be used consistently to ensure the materials, products, processes, and services are fit for the purpose. These standards are the pure wisdom of the organizations to provide the best presentation, these organizations may manufacturers, trade associations, buyers, sellers, users, regulators, or customers. The purpose of this organization is to provide an identical standard in quality management, energy management, environmental management, food safety, health, and safety, etc. being a part of the International trade market. It is an introduction to ISO (International Standard Organization), there are some popular standards we will discuss below.
ISO 9001:2015-QMS – QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This Standard provides the Quality Management System when the organizations need to show the statutory and regulatory requirements and the organizations also want to enhance customer satisfaction. This is a generic standard and can be applied to every organization without the consideration of type and size. Probably, this is a widely known quality management standard that is using now today Internationally. ISO 14001:2015-EMS – ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This is an environmental management standard that is applicable in those organizations that are wishing to enhance or improve their existing environmental management performance. This standard may use when the organization wants to sustain environmental responsibility through systemic contribution. The organization itself or the interested parties seeking the outcome through the environmental management system may get this standard. ISO 27001: 2013 – ISMS – Information Security Management System
In this technological era, this standard has important worth in the organization’s life that provides the information security management standard. The purpose of this standard is to help out the organizations to produce the information security management system (ISMS).
This standard is based upon the set of interrelated elements, these elements are used to overcome the security risks and control over the organization’s security system that protects and preserves the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
HACCP – HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITICAL CONTROL POINT
The standard is a basic need of the food industries which used to management tool to protect the food supply chain. This is a medical device standard, not a product standard, but the process standard based upon the ISO 9001. It is organized in the same way, that uses the requirements are taken directly from ISO 9001. However, since ISO 13485 is about medical devices there are requirements specific to this industry.
